These come in various forms from overgrowth to undergrowth and from absence of the digits to extra digits.
Surgery is usually the best option. In thumb duplications, correction improves the function and appearance.
Patient had reconstruction of the extra digit/duplicate.
Left hand with absence of all four fingers. Patient had two toes transferred at the age of 18 months.
In absence of the digits, toe transfers will improve the function of the hand but will never improve the cosmesis. We overcome this with prosthesis.
Patient had stabilisation of the thumb with bone grafting preserving the thumb.
